By universal suffrage
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday 23 May at 5:00 pm and will remain open to the public in the Luciano Maccario Room, on the ground floor of the Museum and during the opening hours of the Civic Museum at Via Vittorio Emanuele II 19.
From May 23 to June 21, 2026, the "F. Eusebio" Civic Museum in Alba will host a historical exhibition dedicated to the birth of the Republic, the first free elections, and women's suffrage.
The documents on display celebrate one of the most significant dates in modern Italian history: June 2, 1946. Through a selection of period materials, many of which come directly from the Teodoro Bubbio Archive, the exhibition offers an in-depth look at the work of the Constituent Assembly.
Mayor of Alba, a distinguished local politician, and a Grand Officer of the Crown of Italy, Senator Teodoro Bubbio was a member of the Constituent Assembly and today represents the city's witness to a major institutional transformation.
As part of the official celebrations for the eightieth anniversary of the first session of the Constituent Assembly, the exhibition "A Suffragio Universale" is organized by the Beppe Fenoglio Center for Studies in Literature, History, Art and Culture with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Alba and in collaboration with the Federico Eusebio Civic Museum, the ANPI Alba Bra Section, and with the contribution of the Banca d'Alba Foundation and the CRT Foundation.
