Plants have always been a part of our lives, but how well do we really know them? Starting with her book "Plants, Us and Them: Biology, Symbols, and Feelings of a Special Relationship," Professor Paola Bonfante will guide us through the discovery of the plant world through the lens of science, culture, and our imagination. This event explores the ancient, complex, and ever-evolving relationship between humans and plants, alongside the scientist who has dedicated her life to studying the plant world. Professor Paola Bonfante will be in conversation with Dr. Luca Borio of the National Truffle Study Center. Paola Bonfante is Professor Emeritus of Plant Biology at the University of Turin and a pioneer in the study of the relationships between plants and microorganisms. A member of prestigious Italian and European scientific academies, she is among the most cited researchers internationally.
