On Gianmaria's side
10 years without him, 20 years of "On this side of the sea"
2026 will mark a double anniversary. On the one hand, 10 years without Gianmaria Testa, who passed away in 2016; on the other, it will be exactly 20 years since the release of "Da questa parte del mare," winner of the 2016 Tenco Award, an album dedicated to the theme of contemporary migration, a concept album that seems written tomorrow.
On Saturday, September 25th, at 9:00 PM, at the Teatro Sociale “Giorgio Busca” in the combined rooms, all the songs from the album “Da questa parte del mare” will be performed by today's singers, in the style of each of the artists involved, accompanied by a supergroup of musicians.
The singers involved will all be big names on the Italian scene and somehow in line with Gianmaria's spirit and poetics.
The event is organized by Produzioni Fuorivia, Gianmaria Testa's historic production company, and by Fandango, one of Italy's most important film production companies, as well as the label under which "Da questa parte del mare" was released in 2006.
