COeSI and the Transformation of the Classroom Context: A Systemic Approach to Inclusion
Share on

An important opportunity for discussion on the issues of school inclusion and
educational innovation.
The "COESI – COprogettarE Scuole Inclusive" project was created with the aim of concretely implementing the
paradigm shift introduced by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities, which views disability as the result of the interaction between the individual and their context.
From this perspective, COESI proposes an innovative model of specialized school education that transcends the traditional approach centered on the individual student, focusing on the classroom context as a whole. The intervention aims to impact the group's relational and organizational dynamics, promoting more inclusive, participatory, and welcoming learning environments. A key aspect of the project is its co-design methodology, which integrates core teachers, support teachers, and educational staff from social cooperatives, in a spirit of shared educational responsibility.

The COESI project focuses on the "P. Gallizio" Art School in Alba, where the project is currently being implemented. The school is positioned as a place of openness, inclusion, and accessibility, capable of generating opportunities, a future, and greater security for vulnerable students.

The meeting will feature Dr. Giulia Guglielmini, President of the Fondazione per la Scuola (Foundation for Schools),
Dr. Luisa Pennisi, Head of the Right to Education Office of the Metropolitan City of Turin,
Dr. Elisa Colombi, Director of the SC NPI (National Institute for Education) of the ASL CN2 (Local Health Authority), Dr. Marco Bertoluzzo, Director of the
SESALER Consortium, and Ms. Orsola Bonino, Disability Ombudsman for the Municipality of Alba.
The event will be moderated and coordinated by Prof. Roberto
Buongarzone, Headmaster of the IIS "G. Govone" in Alba.
The project's work will also be presented during the event, led by Dr.
Francesca Innocenti, Prof. Sara Lioia, and Dr. Helena Cugnasco of the IIS "G. Govone" in Alba
– Liceo Artistico "P. Gallizio."
