As from 2020, the city of Alba has decided to establish the figure of Ambassador for Creativity, choosing from the most prominent figures in the area who have successfully made genius their most important weapon while carrying the name of Alba around the world. At the moment, the ambassador is Valerio Berruti, a contemporary artist of international calibre, strongly rooted in the Langhe region, where he grew up and still lives: The nomination was announced on 10th July during the event called "Ripartiamo insieme” (Let's start again together) which launched the new Alba Creative City for Gastronomy communication campaign during which the mayor, Carlo Bo, and the tourism councillor, Emanuele Bolla, had a video interaction with Giorgio Gori, mayor of Bergamo, the latest addition to the Olympus of creativity. The multifaceted artist said he was honoured to be able to tie his name to Alba Creative City and is working on new ideas that will see the light of day as soon as possible.
