In a world of ever-faster change and deeper uncertainty, our desire to control complexity through technology often ends up amplifying it. In response to this paradox, technology can be rethought not as a tool of conquest, but as a way to connect with the world we inhabit. Faced with challenges like climate change, can artificial intelligence help us connect with other intelligences—plants, animals, and microbes—and open up new possibilities for collective survival?
