Spazio14, in collaboration with the international art platform Artbridger of Hong Kong, presents this two-person exhibition, a powerful and intense dialogue between the abstract and material research of Milan-based Lebanese artist Ghanem Hassan and the figurative oil paintings of Lebanese painter Philippe Farhat. The exhibition explores the theme of primordial emptiness and the eternal human yearning for the sacred and the absolute. Ghanem Hassan exhibits works on canvas and artisanal cotton paper with raw edges, dense with mineral pigments, archaic glyphs, and pure gold leaf (The Codex Suite). His compositions function as archetypal stems, golden thresholds, and codes of memory that resist the passage of time. Philippe Farhat responds with visceral and psychological painting. Deconstructing the human face and anatomy, the artist explores the vulnerability of the body, flesh, memory, and the intimate tensions of existence. Brief biographies: Ghanem Hassan, known professionally as TheGeeArt, is an abstract artist born in Lebanon in 1993 who has chosen to follow his true artistic calling, dedicating himself to the creation of works that blend abstraction with innovative techniques. Inspired by masters such as Wassily Kandinsky and Jackson Pollock, he has developed a personal style distinguished by its ability to evoke complex emotions through the use of color and form. His works have been exhibited in prestigious galleries in cities such as Milan, New York, London, Athens, Dubai, and Hong Kong. His art is a tale of resilience, transformation, and the courage to speak one's truth, even when the world isn't ready to hear it. Philippe Farhat is a Lebanese contemporary artist who graduated in interior design from the Lebanese University in 2009 and in plastic arts in 2016. Philippe has taught at various academies and currently teaches at the Prunus Academy, the CAMM Fashion Academy, and for the Municipality of Zouk. He also works as an interior designer, having completed over 80 projects in Lebanon and Kuwait (residences, restaurants, etc.). Philippe has participated in over 25 group exhibitions and held solo shows at Galerie Zaman, the Lebanese University, Beit al Hirafi, and Galerie Cheriff Tabet. In 2023, he exhibited in Miami and New York. His works are born from a wealth of experiences related to society and humanity, filtered through his personal vision.
