Alba: “The city’s grand dinner” reaches over 1200 ordered menus and bids farewell to the 2022 event in presence.
Great success for the initiative of Alba Creative City for the Gastronomy that involved 27 city restaurants.
Over 1200 menus ordered and 27 restaurants involved: these are the numbers that marked the success of the first edition of "Add a post on the table. The city of Alba's grand dinner", the initiative devised as part of the activities of the UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy and staged on 30th April and 1st May.
Each restaurant taking part in the event prepared a four-course menu - starter, first course, main course with side dish and dessert - all presented in packaging made available by the Municipality of Alba, produced using environmentally friendly and compostable materials and created specially for this event through projects related to Alba Capital of Business Culture.
"The city's grand dinner", jointly organized by Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, Associazione Commercianti Albesi, Confindustria, Banca d'Alba, Apro, Alba Accademia Alberghiera, Accademia Bocuse d'Or, Consorzio Turistico Langhe Monferrato Roero, Ente Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba and Consorzio Cascine Piemontesi, was an important opportunity to support the restart of the city's catering sector.
A highlight of the event was also dedicated to the world of voluntary work: the "civic grandparents" of Alba, as a sign of gratitude for their commitment, received a special dinner-box containing a menu signed by the Bocuse d'Or Italy Academy, in the person of President Enrico Crippa, Director Luciano Tona and with the participation of Chef Alessandro Bergamo, who will represent Italy at the Lyon final of the Bocuse competition. The food was prepared in collaboration with Apro Accademia Alberghiera and featured raw materials supplied by the Consorzio Cascine Piemontesi.
