YOU WERE SO PRETTY WHEN YOU WERE LITTLE – Portraits of Discomposed Women

The exhibition "You Were So Cute as a Little Girl: Portraits of Discomposed Women" by Chiara Tarditi comes to Alba for a two-day event not to be missed. Featuring twenty female portraits with hand-embroidered inserts on photographs, the exhibition pays homage to women past and present who have fought and continue to fight for gender equality (and more). Here's the weekend's program: it begins on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24th at 6:00 PM with the exhibition opening and the book presentation by one of the "discomposed women" featured in the embroidered portraits: ILARIA MARIA DONDI. She will present her book REPROCIDIO, a painful but necessary reflection on how to destroy a people by targeting women and children, and on reproductive crimes throughout history, right up to what's happening in Gaza today. On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25th, the event begins at 10:00 AM. The second day of the event is dedicated to art in its many facets: illustration, photography, crafts, handmade items, and much more. A day filled with BEAUTY, creativity, enchantment, wonder, ingenuity, and imagination. BEAUTY that becomes encounter, dialogue, a subversive, rebellious, spontaneous, provocative, and utopian beauty, unconventional. From 10 am, doors open to visit the exhibition "You Were So Pretty as a Little Girl - Portraits of Discomposed Women." Throughout the day, a stunning craft market curated by @_mazeshop_ will be held in the outdoor courtyard, featuring many creatives and artists. From 3 to 6 pm, EMBROIDERY ON PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP. For those curious to learn a particular technique, the technique used for the portraits of the discomposed women featured in the exhibition. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
