The Origin: The Sacred Between Father and Daughter in Contemporary Art

From 24 October to 22 November 2026, the Church of San Giuseppe in Alba hosts “The Origin: the Sacred between Father and Daughter in Contemporary Art”, an exhibition dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the death of Orsola Maddalena Caccia, daughter of the painter Guglielmo Caccia, known as “Il Moncalvo”.

The Narrated Art project , born in 2025 to commemorate the figures of Guglielmo and Orsola Caccia, arrives in Alba with 17 internationally renowned artists , called to address the theme of the Sacred and the relationship between father and daughter.

Using different techniques and languages, the artists offer a contemporary interpretation of a theme deeply rooted in art history and spirituality, creating a dialogue between the works and the Baroque context of the Church of San Giuseppe.

During the exhibition it will also be possible to discover the Roman archaeological trail located under the church, the panoramic bell tower and the dioramas by Maestro Angelo Proglio dedicated to the life of Jesus and the hilly landscape of the Langhe.
