Patronal Feast of San Lorenzo

On Monday 10 August 2026 at 6:00 pm the patronal feast of Alba opens with the Solemn Celebration of the Eucharist in honour of San Lorenzo, presided over by Bishop Monsignor Marco Brunetti and concelebrated by all the Priests and Deacons of the Diocese, in the presence of the authorities and city associations.

The Holy Mass will be preceded by a procession from Via Vida to Piazza Risorgimento, with entry into the Cathedral, which houses the relics of the Saint.

The celebrations continue with the eagerly awaited and popular events of the great Night of the Stars, organized by the Borgo di San Lorenzo and promoted by the Alba City Council's Events Department.

The celebration in Piazza Duomo begins at 7:00 PM with a DJ set for an aperitif, a musical dinner with food trucks and a cocktail bar, and the "NIGHTS OF WINE" tasting trail on Via Cavour, in collaboration with the National Association of Wine Cities, the Alba City Wineries, and Go Wine.
The traditional parade of the Borgo di San Lorenzo Flag-Wavers and Musicians Group, featuring the City of Alba Flag-Wavers accompanied by the Historical Procession, begins at 8:30 PM in Piazza Michele Ferrero. Crossing Via Vittorio Emanuele II, the participants will pass through Piazza Pertinace and Via Cavour, reaching Piazza Risorgimento at 9:00 PM, where they will perform a show celebrating the city's patron saint.

Following this, at 9:30 PM, the Piazza del Duomo will be lit up with the live show "MATTI DA LEGARE" by Leonardo Proglio, a renowned musician and singer from Alba with 20 years of experience on major stages throughout Italy, from his historic stint as frontman of Divina to this new project, a blend of '70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s dance music mixed with Italian hits and reggaeton. An irresistible show, all to dance and sing along to, with a five-piece band and the beautiful and talented female vocal partner Alice Coarcella.

During the evening, Piazza Risorgimento will also be embellished with evocative projections of falling stars and, with the mayor's greeting at 11pm, the municipal administration and the volunteers of Borgo San Lorenzo will offer everyone a glass of Moscato wine in collaboration with the Asti DOCG Consortium.
