Madonna del Latte
Exhibition of Barnaba da Modena's masterpiece.
The 1380 painting “Madonna Breastfeeding the Child” by the artist Barnaba Agocchiari, known as Barnaba da Modena, became the property of the Municipality of Alba thanks to a donation from Dr. Giovanna Carina Bergui.
The fourteenth-century work of significant artistic interest is a tempera painting measuring 102x69 cm with a frame painted with a gold background punched with small stars, depicting the Virgin with the Child sucking milk.
