Corso Torino 18 Professional Workshop is dedicating its resumption of activities after the summer break to a reflection on the modern era, through the visual and sculptural explorations of Alba-based artist Cristiana Cravanzola. In today's society, the concept of the "threshold"—understood as a dynamic space of transition and transformation between past, present, and future—is often lost. Modernity itself thus becomes the visual perception of a constantly shifting terrain, marked by the acceleration of change. Cristiana Cravanzola's work thus engages in a process of formal synthesis: her sculptures are reinterpretations of real forms, reworked with essential lines. In the sculptural and chromatic rendering, both in the panels and in the three-dimensional pieces, a fantastical garden takes shape, populated by animals and forms that seem to come to life. There's no tension, but rather dynamism and elegance: bright colors convey expressive gazes through real and essential lines, the fruit of a keen observation of everyday life that never loses sight of the "threshold." An artistic journey, underlines the curator Vilma Vola, which cannot be traced back to a single movement or a single master of reference, but which rather reveals a maturity built over time thanks to the artist's long experience as a teacher of Plastic and Sculptural Disciplines at the Art High School of Alba: an encounter between the profession of the artist and that of the teacher which makes him an eclectic and complete figure.
