On Sunday, October 11, 2026, in the midst of the Alba International White Truffle Fair, a Sunday dedicated to discovering other generous fruits of the earth: the capital of the Langhe region will be transformed into an immense banquet celebrating the versatility of herbs and spices. Organized by the Associazione Turismo in Langa as part of the 96th Alba International White Truffle Fair, with the active support of the Alba Fair Authority and the Municipality of Alba – this year in its 21st edition – Albaromatica is a veritable festival designed to showcase every facet of the use of herbs and spices. PIAZZA RISORGIMENTO (PIAZZA DEL DUOMO) From 9:00 a.m. to approximately 7:00 p.m., Piazza Risorgimento will host exhibitors from across Northern Italy, offering personal care products, foods and beverages based on herbs and spices, teas, infusions, herbal teas, liqueurs, and flavored beers. In the cloister of the Church of San Giovanni, in Piazza Pertinace, a photography exhibition is dedicated to a horticultural therapy project carried out at the Neive nursing home. CLOISTER OF THE CHURCH OF SAN GIOVANNI The photography exhibition: "A garden brought back to life at the Neive nursing home" This year, in the cloister of the Church of San Giovanni, Albaromatica is also hosting a social project born from the collaboration between Turismo in Langa APS and Le2Impronte APS, an organization active in animal-assisted interventions and green therapy. The project was launched through a crowdfunding campaign promoted by Turismo in Langa APS with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, which made it possible to donate several horticultural therapy sessions to the Neive nursing home: a wellness program focused on earth and plants, dedicated to the facility's elderly residents. Cultivation was accompanied by a creative writing program, led by Le2Impronte professionals and guests, who were invited to share memories and experiences related to the garden and rural life in the Langhe—a program also inspired by the journey of the seed, as recounted by Stefano Mancuso in "The Journey of Plants." The exhibition, set up in the cloister during Albaromatica, retraces these sessions through photographs and texts and will later be donated to the Neive Nursing Home as a permanent record of the project. It's no coincidence that it's located in San Giovanni, which already hosts a program dedicated to the garden and herbs: the Pinot Gallizio flowerbed, the garden inaugurated in 2022 with five large planters of aromatic herbs.
