Review of the Alba Langhe and Roero choirs
The popular San Domenico Choir Festival returns, now in its twentieth year. Folk choirs from the Langhe and Roero villages will perform their traditional repertoire, along with choirs from Alba. For the past two years, singing groups from villages outside the province and from Lower Piedmont have also participated
The artistic direction is curated by professor and choir teacher Paola Marengo, head of the Famija Albèisa Choir and placed under the patronage of the Piedmontese Choirs Association.
The Festival returns to inaugurate the Alba spring during the month of April 2026. Nine evenings have been scheduled that will host over 40 choirs from various forms of aggregation of bel canto enthusiasts.
Beginning on Tuesday, April 7th at 8:45 pm, they will perform under the naves of San Domenico in Alba, with several choirs performing each evening.
The concerts will be organized according to various themes (liturgical music, sacred music in general, popular music, gospel/pop music, and ancient music repertoire).
Student choirs from the city's institutes and secondary schools will also participate in the festival, performing on Sunday afternoon.
