Author's waste

Starting Saturday 21 March 2026 , the Alba Earth Market , in Piazza Pertinace, becomes a meeting place for art, community and sustainability thanks to “Scarti d'autore” , the project conceived by UnTerritorio ETS with the aim of promoting a new shared awareness of the value of food, placing food at the centre as a common good: not just nourishment, but a social and cultural experience, a right for all and a tool for connecting people and territories.

The initiative actively engages Earth Market producers and the local community in a calendar of events from March to November 2026: artistic workshops, participatory performances, and opportunities for storytelling and in-depth exploration of art and science, alongside concrete awareness-raising tools such as anti-waste kits and a handbook for waste management.

All meetings will take place in the morning, starting at 10:00 a.m., and will include artistic and performance activities along with interviews with market producers held directly in Piazza Pertinace, surrounded by the Earth Market.

In case of bad weather, the activity will take place in the Spazio San Giovanni – Cloister of the Church of San Giovanni in Piazza Pertinace.

Scarti d'Autore is a project by UnTerritorio ETS created in collaboration with AICA – International Association for Environmental Communication, the Alba Earth Market Committee, and Turismo in Langa, thanks to the contribution of the CRC Foundation and the Municipality of Alba, with the support of the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board and the San Giovanni di Alba Association.
