Alba, Capital of Contemporary Art
Alba has been proclaimed Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2027 , a national recognition that recognizes the city's cultural vision and its ability to transform art into a driver of development and participation. The announcement came during an official ceremony at the Ministry of Culture, attended by the jury and representatives of the finalist cities.
The title was awarded to the dossier "Le fattori del vento" (The Wind Factories) , named after a work by Pinot Gallizio and designed to generate a artistic, economic, and social . At the heart of the project is the creation of the Langhe Biennale , conceived as a platform for production, exhibition, and research, which will celebrate its first edition in 2027.
The program also aims to create new works, spaces, and permanent cultural architecture , entrusted to prominent artists and professionals, with the idea of leaving the city a public legacy that will last beyond the year of the award. The award also includes a ministerial grant to support the activities envisioned by the winning project.
