Suspended book

Give a book as a gift to a future reader!

"Libro sospeso" (Suspended Book) solidarity and active citizenship initiative , in collaboration with the Alba Langhe and Roero Social Welfare Consortium and the five participating Alba bookstores: La Bookeria, La Torre, Marameo, Milton, and San Paolo.

Starting December 9th, residents will be able to participate in the initiative by donating (in cash or another form of payment) at one of these bookstores. The funds raised will then be donated to the Social Welfare Consortium, which will make them available, in the form of vouchers, to families experiencing economic or educational hardship with children aged 0-6, so they can choose a children's book to take home.

The initiative stems from the knowledge, now proven by science, that culture improves our health and that reading, especially when shared, is a powerful tool for growth, relationships, and well-being, both individual and collective. For this reason, the Library promotes the dissemination of books among the entire population of Alba, regardless of social or income background. 

The proposal is part of the "Che Storia" project, dedicated to families with children aged 0-6, created by the Alba Civic Library with funding from the Compagnia di San Paolo.
