In Piazza Risorgimento, opposite the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Town Hall is the civic face of Alba: a building dating back to the Middle Ages (14th century) and always linked to the city's public life. In the 19th century, restoration and reorganization projects, led by architect Giorgio Busca, redefined its image, adapting it to the needs of a modern city while maintaining its role as a "common home.".

Beneath the façade, the archway that spans the building acts as a threshold between the square and the city center's network of streets, between market, ceremonies, and daily life. Inside, the council chamber preserves works of art that narrate local identity and memory, with paintings ranging from the Renaissance to the twentieth century. Visiting it, one senses that here the present rests on an ancient stratification: the square itself is the heir of the Roman forum and the medieval plaza, the urban heart of Alba for centuries.

Alba's Town Hall, the historic seat of the municipality in Piazza Risorgimento, is primarily an administrative building, but it can be visited on special occasions, with extraordinary openings (e.g. for exhibitions) or through organized guided tours.
