MUDI is the acronym for the Cultural System of the Diocese of Alba : M for MAB (Museum, Archive, and Library), U for people and community, the true heritage of the territory, D for education, to tell stories and engage audiences of all ages, and I for itineraries, a network of paths through art, faith, and history that connects the city to the surrounding areas. Its mission is to preserve, study, research, and disseminate the diocesan historical, artistic, archival, and bibliographical heritage. The Diocesan Museum is organized across seven locations and coordinates activities across a broad network of sites, promoting the traditions and heritage they safeguard together with local communities.

In the exhibition halls, particularly the Crypt of St. Peter and the Hall of the Coat of Arms, you can see early medieval liturgical furnishings and a lapidary collection with Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance artifacts, as well as ceramics, textiles, glass, painted plaster, and coins. Multimedia stations and an immersive room complete the experience, making the museum a documentation center and a gateway to the Langhe and Roero region.

Entrance is from Piazza Rossetti, near the Cathedral bell tower.
The guided tour will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants, so reservations are required.
