Book Presentation "The Heartbeats of the Mountain" A True Story of Rebirth
After a double, simultaneous heart and kidney transplant, Alessandro Carlini, writer and ANSA journalist, finds himself facing the most difficult test of his life. During his recovery, the words of writers and the stories of the protagonists of the two world wars become a precious source of inspiration. Above all, his encounter with Beppe Fenoglio marks a turning point: reading "The Partisan Johnny" and other works by Fenoglio gave him renewed energy, courage, and direction.
After recovering, Carlini embarks on a literary and historical quest that leads him to walk again, especially in the mountains, until those steps transform into a true pilgrimage to the Fenoglio-inspired Langhe.
His book is the story of this rebirth: a physical and interior journey, where memory, nature, and literature become companions on the journey.
Representatives of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) and associations committed to promoting organ donation will be present at the presentation. Without that gesture of generosity, the author would not be here to share his story. This book is also a tribute to life restored and to the strength born from the encounter between fragility and hope.
